I am both an educator as well as life-long learner. I value being a member of school communities which embrace a reflection and which encourage a growth mindset. I am personally committed to ongoing professional development, and using what I have learned to grow as a practitioner. I also believe in the role of the educator as researcher, both in a formal and informal sense.
My further qualifications included training as a literacy coach and teacher-research components. As part of my studies, I researched and wrote my Master's thesis on the influence of student attitudes towards learning on their academic achievement. I have also completed further graduate level work in the areas of math education and remediation, as well as course work specific to students with educational, behavioral, and emotional disabilities.
